To the best of our knowledge Datepad has become the first Dating Application on Facebook to receive Verified status. What does this mean? The folks over at Facebook have a list of requirements, some of them we now know and some of them we’re still not too clear about!. Depending on how your application works this process can be a tad arduous; for Datepad it wasn’t too bad.

Facebook is  trying to make the application network a better place. One of their major concerns is spam; they don’t want apps sending more notices and friend requests than need be. Many apps that have been successful on the network simply won’t qualify. Sadly these spammy practices are the main reasons many applications have done so well.

During the verification process Facebook was also concerned about the look and feel of the application; they don’t want users to think the apps are created by Facebook. Many developers have made their applications practically mimic the exact look and feel of a Facebook page. For the average none tech savvy user this could come across as misleading so I understand why Facebook is doing this.

The big question is was it worth it? It’s too early to tell and this might be tough to measure regardless. Facebook has added special areas within the application directory to highlight Verified apps, so in theory this should drive more traffic. Truth be told most applications growth is through the news feed and through friend requests. What I do know as a user is that if I were faced with two similar applications, one being verified and the other not,  I would be inclined to go the verified route. Building credibility in any market is tough and in the online world, whether it is a social network or a dating site, one could argue it is even tougher.

Datepad and staff are proud to announce that we have hit another milestone!  We now have over 10,000 unique member profiles on our website.  This is a major milestone for a free internet dating company because there are not many startup companies that can reach such a high number in such a short amount of time.

We are really starting to see some good traffic from Google organically and this has had an impact in getting to 5,000 members so quickly. August 31st was the official day we passed 5,000 if you go back to previous posts it took 129 days to attain 2,000 members and only 51 days to achieve 3,000. As we continue to climb in search engine results we are optimistic that we’ll continue the great exponential growth we have seen from day one. Next stop will be 10,000 members, I look forward to bringing this news to you all very soon!

Our first 1,000 members took a little over months and our climb to the next 1,000 active members has taken less than 30 days!

Datepad is proud to announce that we have recently reached a new milestone. We have kept our promise of bringing the community the best free online dating articles and the ultimate free online dating site, and our hard work is paying off.

It took over two whole months to reach our first milestone of 500 members, which is quite a feat for a new competitor in this niche. However, Datepad toppled the 1000 member milestone in under a month this time.

Ever since our public launch on March 1st, the Datepad team has been hammering nonstop with new features, new articles, new viral marketing strategies, and much more.  It looks like that hard work has been paying off as we have just had our 500th member join the site yesterday.  There are many dating startups that launch on the web every month, but few have the potential to survive long term and really grow into something.  Luckily for us, Datepad is one of those diamonds in the rough.

We will now be striving to reach the 1000 member landmark, and at the rate that Datepad has been growing I do not think that it will take very long.

The first few months for any startup, especially in the dating niche, is to find ways to build enough traffic to satisfy the first members to the site.  I believe we are greatly accomplishing that, as we have just had our 10,000th visit to the site.  This is the first step into adding another zero or two onto that number as our site grows and becomes the king of the free online dating services.

When the Datepad.com idea was originally conceived, we knew that while there were other free dating sites on the market we knew we could do better. With an incredibly clean and fresh feel to our site that makes navigation a breeze to our regularly updated article section that offers dating tips, health suggestions, our fun top 10 lists and of course sex!

After completing hours of testing and a nation wide focus group one of the areas we knew we had to focus on was member pictures! Because of this we have developed what we believe is the best picture uploading/viewing system on the net. We not only optimize your picture when you upload it but in order to make that perfect thumbnail we have added a cropping feature.

It looks like that creative thinking has truly been worth it, as our article about how to be a great first date has received over 1600 views! Talk about a killer launch party!

After months of preparing, today is the big day.   Datepad.com has officially opened the site to the public, and you can now enjoy everything our site has to offer!
