We here at Datepad want to provide the world’s best free online dating service, but we know as well as you do that we are not the only website in our industry. We believe that by showing you everything our biggest competitors have to offer, you can make up your own mind as to why Datepad is the best choice.
With that being said, here is our first dating site blog review.
The first online dating site that I am going to be reviewing is called DateHookup.com. Datehookup is an older online dating site, having been launched way back in July 2002. Since the site is a lot older than most of the other websites in this industry, it has had a lot of time to rank well in search engines and receives a lot of visitors every month.
The site offers all the features you would expect from a free online dating site, you can get your own profile, there are forums, as well as date ideas. They tote that they are better than everyone else, but let us look into their claim and see if they can stand the test of time.
On their About page, they have a detailed list of everything that DateHookup offers, but one thing I found a bit unprofessional was that while listing the best features that their website has, the bottom one says, “Other stuff I can’t remember.” If the developers of the website do not even know what their website does, how is anyone else supposed to?
Aside from that, the site looks well established. The site is monetized with a strip of Adsense ads on the right side. This is an excellent way for them to make money while not annoying the users of the site. The majority of free online dating users would prefer a free site that has advertisements rather than having to pay a monthly fee. Free is the way of the future for online dating.
A very prominent feature on DateHookup is the forums, with some of the bigger categories reaching 7000 threads! Dating forums are generally the hardest part of a site to grow, and it looks like they have that on lockdown. That is due to many years of promotion and slow exponential growth, and they are now reaping all the search engine traffic from it. It will take a while before Datepad has a forum that is that active, but all in good time. Congratulations on that DateHookup!

This site sucks………Dustin is a complete jerk. He is letting users with fake profiles and evil agendas running the site. Evil people know glitches in the system and get great people deleted. I would avoid this sit like the plague…..

It can be an ok site..but ever since the owner has let a very violent offender run rampid in there things have gotten really out of hand…
you see a lot of folks claiming too be in love with someone..then the next day they are hooked up with the guy that they was sleeping with behind the guys back, that they claimed too be in love with the first time…
there are a lot of fake profiles on there…along with married folks looking for something on the side…
and the owners sister is the moderator…wich is a bad thing cause she is just a child and has no clue on how too use common sense

Datehookup.com is not a safe site i have been on this site off and on it has not changed. i first came on this site back in 2006. i deleted my profile in the summer of 2007.
Due to dustin allowing fake profiles and white supremacist, to create profiles to harass me and other members. i deleted my profile along with another member. the reason why i deleted my profile was because of the non caring of the site owner and customer support.
when ever i complained to them about the fake profiles taking over the site i never received any replies. dustin also allows some of the datehookup origional members to bully and harass some of the new members,
i was recently on this site, dustin amediately deleted both me and another member because of our support of barack obama. there are alot of obama bashing threads in current events. dustin allows this to go on.
whenever there is a MCcain thread, dustin will delete the thread.
this site is not SAFE PERIOD, dustin is only interested in making money and sponsers off his site.

DHU is a wonderful free site and, as correctly stated in this review, the forums are a big part of the site’s popularity. Unlike any other site, DHU offers a user-friendly approach to accessing the forums and the owner, Dustin, has recently started threads in order to explain some of the site changes and has even asked its members’ opinions about procedural issues.
The chief, and growing, complaint within the forums is its lack of live monitoring. Presently, a flagger has the ability to cause a thread to disappear …. after much effort, feedback, and though provoking input. Flagging is not being used for the intended purpose and is, instead, an automatic feature that opens the door to cliques, vendettas, and spiteful members. Consequently, innocent, funloving, humorous threads have bit the dustin without any justification or explanation.
Members have emailed the owner and started threads to that effect, but they disappear anyhow and the correspondence goes unanswered. As a matter of fact, the contact page lists all the areass of concerns and then instructs the member NOT to contact the site regarding such issues because they WILL go unanswered! Rules change, without notification. Innocent people are being suspended and malicious offenders are allowed to obtain multiple profiles and continue their attacks on active members. Oddly, permanent banning is not happening fast enough, but suspensions occur almost immediately. We’d like to know why and want this problem fixed.
Let’s put an end to phantom flaggers and get our show back on track!

Have you ever been a member, or put forth any effort to become a member of the free on-line dating service known as Datehookup.com? If so, you undoubtedly have run into problems that you thought would be resolved through communication with customer service. Chances are you either received no response, or your problem remained unresolved. Your search for a telephone number to call or address to direct written correspondence was both frustrating and fruitless. Well, I am here to help.
You first need to know whether or not you are still an “active” member of the community. This is not as obvious as one might expect. Each “nickname” a member chooses is linked to a given single email address. You can have multiple nicknames and Profiles only if you have a different email address for each, which is not a problem if you are with an ISP like AOL. I joined the site this past summer under a particular nickname. A few months later, with no notice or warning, I was told by other members who were friends of mine that I was no longer appearing in their “favorites” section, they could no longer access my Profile and a search for “nicknames” could not locate my account. I sent an e-mail to customer service which was not responded too. I found this an odd situation, since I was still able to access my own Profile when signed on, and it still appeared as though I could post commentary in Pennsylvania Chat. When returning to chat after posting, my comments were not available to view.
Under the impression this was a computer glitch, I attempted to make another account under a different name. This new account was met with the same problems, and there was no notice that the account was awaiting approval. The same problem was attendant to three other nicknames, all with different AOL email addresses. Despite being denied full access under any name, all still received regular e-mailings from Datehookup.com notifying me of new members in my area; members with whom I could not communicate. Then I realized that this was not only deceiving to me, but to all the advertisers on the site as well. Any number of active members provided to advertisers would be askew. Afterall, Datehookup’s records would reflect at least five (5) active accounts just for me when really none existed. I then embarked on my campaign to find out who was actually behind Datehookup for the purpose of issuing a warning prior to contacting all of their advertisers on an executive level. If you have an unresolved problem, perhaps you would like to communicate with the owner directly. This information is accurate as possible.
The owner of Datehookup.com is Dustin R. Weirich. His nickname on the site is merely “Dustin”. Mr. Weirich also incorporated a business in California on August 30, 2004 called Search Floor, Inc. The registered address for this internet related business is 117 Lost Oak Court, Roseville, CA, 95661. This address is believed to be his home address, although I have not telephoned any neighbors, voter’s registration or real estate property assessor as yet to confirm. The telephone number for this business where you can reach Mr. Weirich is 916-787-0817. His home telephone number is 916-788-9629. Next time you have a problem, drop Dustin a line. Maybe he won’t be so cavalier with personal calls as he is with customer service…and tell him Big John D. Pettineo sent you.

well regardless what you all say, i had a terrible experiance the summer of 2007 on that site… dustin allowed several members to harass, threat, stalk, and make fake profiles to harass me and two other members
when i emailed dustin about this he as usual never replies back. the datehookup members who been there longer were bullying the new members.
customer support never responds back either…. dustin only cares about making money and not about his members

Datehookup is definetly not a dating site for those of you who are seriously looking to find that special someone. Many of the female profiles are fake and my guess is that they are put out on the site/generated by the administrators or possibly Dustin himself, to attract more male members. Some of the female profiles ( and no doubt, some of the male profiles), haven’t been used (active) in over a year, for one reason or another and they are still left on the site to make it look like there are many female members. By right-clicking on a members profile pic, it shows you the date that the member originally posted their pick, from there, draw your own conclusion. Also, there are MANY profiles :1.Without a pic. 2. Giving VERY vague self-descriptions 3.Stating that they do not want a relationship of any kind, which makes NO sense to me at all because it rather defeats the purpose of using a “dating” site. 4. NO description of themselves at all. Chances are, that if you decide to leave a female member a message, you will not get a reply because either they will simply “delete” it (as “customer service administrators” do…) or you may converse with them a very small handful of times and then they will stop responding to you, for NO apparent reason. It’s definetly a head-game. I believe the reason for this is because, more than likely, it is an administrator, you are conversing with, who is behind the “profile” and they want to keep you hanging (lead you on), in order to keep you on the site. If you make the unfortunate mistake of falling to fast for the “faker”, then they have you where they want you, so to speak. These are my personal observations and I believe that honesty is the best & ONLY policy. That being said…The bottom line, about Datehookup.com? BE CAREFUL about using this so-called-self-proclaimed-”dating” site, if you decide to. The only true aspect about the site is that it is free. However, if you want a serious relationship? DO NOT waste your precious time & energy on this site and I cannot stress this enough, Ladies & Gentlemen. My personal preference in terms of online dating, is a site that I stumbled across this past summer, entitled “OKCupid.com”, which is very easy to use and free. You’ll have a greater chance of finding someone special there as the success rate is much higher.

This site has turned into a nightmare ! I was around when the site was good. But, now DUSTING is deleting all the good people
and has a bunch of nasty, crazy fakes running around bothering
the good dh people.
He is a coward and keeps deleting a couple of my good friends !
I am NOT going to let him get away with this, believe me.
As someone mention there is someone that is a dangerous felon
that is his buddy ! stress is a bitch, and so is he.
All, I know is this site NOW sucks because of him.

So many good members are having problems, it’s ridiculous !
Some of my good friends have been suspended for no good reason
at all, honestly. And, then it may seem like your back
BUT, when you go to post NO ONE can see what you posted other than you. He has hired a large group of people that are on the site only to cause problems. No JOKE .
I have 3 good friends that are in limbo . He is not man enough to
even respond to there emails, questions ! His sister is also pulling some strings. It’s a complete mad house in there, with dustin, and his sister in charge .
And, I have gotten to the point that I am getting a group of dh friends to go with me to another site !

This site is NOT safe, or fun anymore ! Due to dustins greed.
I was a memeber for 2 yrs, and made many friends in the Past.
About 8 months ago there was a dramatic, and horrible change.
I had a bf that was stalked for months. She fowarded the proof
of her being stalked, and threaten to dustin, and he did NOTHING.
There is also a dangerous FELON resident in dh that is dustins BF.
A member showed us all his wrap sheet on a thread, and it was scary.
But, Yet he is still in dh posting and trying to get woman to go out with him. WTF. dustin is not only a coward but, he is a
snake. He has his little sister running admin… What a joke !
Admin NEVER answers your questions ! little sis is a joke.
He has a group of people that are on dh only to bother, and stalk the decent dh folks that have been there for a while, and never cause problems. This is a fact !
I left that site and am now with my friends in a real dating site.

Dustin is full of shit, back in 2007 dustin allowed a white racist come on his site. call all the black members the N word. dustin was told about this member and he allowed this member to rule the site the entire year.
there was also another situation that happened, where a friend of mine on the site told me that another member whom they had problems with got their personal email and phone number off the site. and believe dustin was behind it
the site needs to be shut down

Datehookup is a horrible site, there is a member by the name soulcitywalker that post alot of racism in the current events thread. he is among the many fake profiles on the site. along with baltimore bob. twohawks. caster troy, krupa, unslightlynormal, queenofhearts61, and melbie7769
Dustins little sister also runs the site and has a profile on the site. and there is also a convicted felon on the site. that is a friend of dustins

Dustin seems to free himself from any responsibility
He (Dustin) never answers emails with a straight answer
My experience has been that he breeds drama and ridicule in forums
There has been criminal threats made to members ignored by Dustin
some are currently under investigation
Many people are on this site under false names and steal profiles
This seems to be a growing trend on many sites
If these operators were held to criminal neglect,
more would be done to protect their members……
Yes, there is a known rapist with a huge rap sheet who Dustin is
knowingly letting stalk and harass people, he has many profiles

Many DH members were driven into a straight jacket at their own request by the late, great ‘Glimmerturd’. Perma-banned into the ‘black astral DH hole of oblivion’ until the year 2939, the infamous ‘Glimmer’ slowly sank into a deep depression. Misdiagnosed as a persistant troll by the “DH Chat Fake Patrol ‘Wart’ Mob”, he grew tired of being blamed for every ‘Tom’, ‘Dick’ and ‘Shmuck’ that ran amuck in the Chat forums. After enduring nearly an entire year of mental abuse at the hands of the ‘Chat Reetards’, ‘Glimmerturd’ is now retired, and homeless. He lives on the beach and now spends his days writing ‘DH Forums Suck’ in the sand.

Most of these replies you have are ignorant and rather conflicting!! Which doesn’t surprise me one bit to be honest!! I have had to contact customer support and Dustin and I have had replies back from BOTH!! Its really sad that I see people boo hoooing about this! Did ya ever think the stuff they were crying about was jus plain petty and well not even worth a fly on the wall’s time?? Now This site here is well hmmm interesting to say the least you let people actually post peoples screen names on here and you don’t make them have proof of their allegations!!! Well, I see I am not the only one who thinks the DH site its self is good but the actions and inactions by Dustin make the site less appealing every day. I may soom launch my own private advertizer notification progream about how I feel… I, too, think someone is creating fake profiles and keeping inactive accounts around to boost the numbers for marketing purposes.

I found out that most of the people in DH are just in there to chat. I had a few women tell me they just there to hang out in the chat rooms and then they block me.
I have only met one women from there in person and she was married.

I have to agree with those folks here who say that DH is not safe! My requests related to an unbalanced psychopath who I had to report to the police were not only unanswered, but completely deleted by “customer support.” They just don’t care about your safety. Sure, you can block a user, but there’s nothing stopping that user from creating another profile and starting all over again, which is what the one I ran across did.
This guy starts off with a “prepared statement,” which is more like a rambling manifesto, and, if you raise any questions about the way he puts himself out there, he immediately blows up and starts calling you vile names. I copied my prosecuting attorney on the correspondence, and after the police read his vulgar, name-calling e-mails, they agreed that this guy is not right.
If you run across a weirdo there, and you will, the only thing you can do is shut down your profile and leave it alone. Don’t expect any care or concern from the people running the site — they simply don’t give a damn.

I had a problem with one person i met on that site, she gave my number to this psycho guy who called my phone pretending he was a fbi agent and shit. so i reported this to the police and they just told me to delete my profile and just avoid the site.
but they did say that Dustin is respondsible for what ever content members post on his site.
